![]() ![]() Basically, I’ve had enough…Ī few years ago, I’d first discovered the Intravee II (IV2 for the rest of this review) and had anxiously awaited its release. There is enough info on this forum about the Dice’s shortcomings that I don’t need to rehash it here-basically the same complaints everyone else has: popping noises, alternator feedback, having to constantly disconnect the battery for 10 minutes to reset the thing, the inability to browse by artist on the older modules, freezing text on newer modules, and of course, ridiculous shipping charges for warranty repairs. Her car has factory Nav and Bluetooth, which makes the Dice just about unusable. Its dedicated to the car, and I don't need to worry about a charging adapter for the newer iPodsĪfter many frustrating years with various forms of the IceLink, Dice, Dice Silverline, and Neo, I finally gave up with those products and decided to step up and get a legit, reliable iPod solution for my wife’s 2004 325xi. But if the virus was intentionally posted and if that bogus eBay account was not just an "honest mistake", I hope the losers responsible wind up being cell mates in prison some day, so they can wash each others back.Intravee II. I have no reason to think the individual who posted the virus and the one who posted the bad eBay account are related. ![]() I've read of other people who had a bad experience with the same bogus vendor. I was also ripped off by one different vendor who allegedly copied enough information about an established vendor to set up a bogus eBay account - that bogus vendor account was eventually removed from eBay and I got a full refund. I've had great luck with the multiple purchases I've made from vendors I learned about here. It's unfortunate that we all have to be careful here and not forget that this is still the Internet, where bad things can and do happen. There are more than a few extremely knowledgeable members here who are friendly and eager to share their knowledge. I've been very impressed with this forum. Was it intentional? I have my suspicions about somebody rolling in here out of nowhere and posting exe files, instead of links to the Rockbox forum. The problem isn't with Rockbox - it's with somebody posting files with a virus. Then try the same Rockboxing procedure again (which will do another formatting via Emcore if successful). If not, then you may need to hook up your iPod to your PC, right-click on the iPod's drive letter, and do a quick format first. The screen on your iPod should now be showing the disclaimer and the Emcore formatting notice. Right-click on the one for the iPod, and choose "properties." The Apple Recovery (DFU) USB Driver should be listed in one of the tabs.Īnyway, after you've copied the Emcore (.ubi) file to the temporary UMSBoot drive for your iPod, go to "Computer" in your Start menu, right-click on the drive letter for your iPod (probably called UMSBoot), and choose "Eject." Any other course of action during this particular installation step might not work. Go to Device Manager (Start menu, right-click on "Computer," and choose "Manage") and look under the "Universal Serial Bus" drivers. During this step (and probably also while a fully Rockboxed iPod is connected), this driver should be listed in Device Manager in Windows. ![]()
